Treasurer of Exeter High School booster club in Philadelphia charged with theft.
Erick Hardwick, 37, was arraigned Thursday charged with stealing nearly $12,000 from the groups. Hardwick remains free on $50,000 bail to await a hearing. “He had been our treasurer for about six years, and we trusted him,” said Mary Mountcastle, a member of the boosters.“I think it’s disgusting he stole from children and families. The guy is a crook and a complete farce.” Police were contacted by Darla Timberlake, a member of the boys soccer boosters, and Mountcastle and Scott Blanchard, two members of the boys’ volleyball boosters. The members told investigators the two groups saw that funds from both organizations had been moved to personal and business accounts belonging to Hardwick. During a May 8 interview with investigators, Hardwick admitted taking the funds from the two organizations.
