Treasurer for Deterding Elementary School in California accused of embezzling $138K from Parent Teacher Organization.
Jennifer Haymart, 39, was charged with embezzlement, grand theft, forgery and unlawful use of personal identifying information. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Haymart made unauthorized withdrawals and wrote unauthorized checks in her position as treasurer for Deterding Elementary School’s PTO. Between November 2015 and October 2017, Haymart, as a treasurer, withdrew money from the PTO’s bank account and wrote herself checks totaling more than $85,372. Haymart is also accused of taking $52,757 from the Carmichael Little League between July 2016 and November 2017, the Sheriff’s Office said. She is being held at the Sacramento County Jail on $125,000 bail.
