Volunteer at Kerr Elementary School, LA, charged with stealing from Parent Teacher Organization bank account.

Katherine Heard, 46, was booked into Bossier Max on Feb. 22 by the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office. Bossier deputies determined that Heard took money from a school PTO bank account and then produced a fake bank statement to cover her tracks. Heard served in a voluntary capacity with the Kerr Elementary School PTO, and deputies discovered that that she had intentionally produced fictitious bank documents from the school PTO account to the school administration and deputies when there was a question about the account. When Bossier investigators obtained the actual bank statements, they discovered that Heard removed $1,981.49 from the bank account for her own personal gain. During questioning, Heard admitted to investigators that she took the money and falsified the document. Heard was charged with forgery and felony theft in the matter. Heard was booked with a $10,000 bond.
