Kentucky State Police are investigating an alleged theft of $20,000 from a booster club at Bullitt Central High School.

A spokesperson said the investigation was in its early stages, and offered no specifics on possible suspects or charges. Members of Bullitt Central’s High School Athletic Booster Club first noticed a problem in September when a check for new uniforms for the football team bounced. Principal Erik Huber said he was grateful for the work of investigators and hoped restitution could eventually be paid. Huber has pledged the school will work closely with the boosters to make sure student-athletes are taken care of. “These kids did nothing wrong. We want them to play their seasons without interruption and represent Bullitt Central with honor and pride and we’re going to make sure that happens,” he said.
