Hastings High School, MN, assistant principal accused of spending $11,000 in school funds for personal use. Superintendent Tim Collins said as head coach for the wrestling team, McLay received a P-Card, which is equivalent to a credit card. The P-Card is funded by donated money. Collins said the card is only to be used for purchases related to the wrestling team. Collins was ordered to turn over the investigation to the Hastings Police Department. An investigator will now sift through documents to determine if there is enough evidence to criminally charge McLay. The school board also voted unanimously for McLay to keep his job, though with stipulations. He will step down as the assistant principal and head wrestling coach at the end of this school year. He will be reassigned as a teacher at the start of the next school year.
