$38,000 was stolen from a school’s rodeo association

Alesia Lappe, the former secretary of the Montana High School Rodeo Association, has been charged with embezzlement.

Lappe started working for the association in March 2015 and was let go in December 2017.

Court documents state Lappe wrote several checks to herself and she also made several debits to the account without the association’s approval.

When Lappe was asked about it, she reportedly told police that she used the checks to pay off two loans.

She reportedly also used the money to buy things for her family.

Lappe told investigators that “there were times when she was short on money so she would over-pay herself to buy things for herself or her kids because she has a difficult time saying no to her kids.”
