Former employee from Plainview-Elgin-Millville Schools, MN, was sentenced to 10 years of probation for theft.

Diane Marie LaRocque, 39, was sentenced to 10 years of probation after she admitted stealing from the school’s activity funds.
School officials noticed “a large sum of money” was missing following a review of the financials for the Plainview-Elgin-Millville School athletic account. It was LaRocque’s job to make a record of the receipts and deposit funds into the school’s bank account, according to court documents. Records indicated that LaRocque had only made one $20 deposit during the 2017-2018 school year. When confronted by the school superintendent, LaRocque reportedly admitted that she had taken some of the cash and put it into her personal account. She estimated the amount at $10,000. “This has been a painful experience for our district, but I am pleased to inform you that our district’s athletic programs were not harmed.” said Schools Superintendent Bill Ihrke. LaRocque was given a stay of imposition, which means that if she successfully completes her probation, the felony conviction will be reduced to a misdemeanor, according to court documents. LaRocque was also ordered to complete 100 hours of community service.
