Former employee charged with stealing lunch money from Brown Deer School District in Wisconsin.
Jennifer Dettmann,48, worked for a food service company in the Brown Deer School District from 2008-2016. The School District says Dettmann deposited daily cash into the district’s dedicated bank account and also recorded funds deposited by parents on the district’s electronic tracking system. After several parents complained they weren’t receiving full credit for their payments, the food service company began an investigation and audit. The food service company has since reimbursed the school district for the stolen funds.Brown Deer School District says they’ve made changes to their system to prevent future similar incidents. Authorities say the Dettmann stole funds, pocketing thousands of dollars over five years. She was arrested and according to court records has been charged with Theft-Business Setting >$10,000.
