Former chief financial officer from Columbia Public Schools in Missouri pleads guilty of theft.
Between 2015 and 2016, Anna Munson made unauthorized ATM withdrawals totaling $17,500 from the Marquette High School band booster account. Munson, who was the boosters’ treasurer at the time, also wrote at least one $1,000 check to herself. Munson was appointed chief financial officer and chief operations officer at Columbia Public Schools in 2017. Munson resigned from the district in March for personal reasons after she was charged in St. Louis County. She did not mention the charges in her resignation. Munson pleaded “blind,” meaning there was no plea bargain, according to Ed Magee, spokesman for the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney’s office. Her sentencing will take place on Dec. 13.
