Money meant to buy needed supplies for a southern Indiana elementary school went missing. Tami Herrold, a treasurer of the Corydon Elementary School’s parent-teacher organization is facing charges. From 2016 to 2018 she made over $57,000 worth of fraudulent transactions using the PTO fund.
Investigators said PTO board members are the ones who first noticed the missing money. “As soon as they saw something fishy they reached out to us immediately. We started working on it together,” said Detective Nick Smith.
Superintendent Mark Eastridge was saddened to hear about the alleged theft but he’s hopeful the community will stand united with the school.
Tami Herold is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing in July.
