Basketball coach admits to stealing thousands in fundraising money from Kings Local School District in Ohio.
The coach, whose name is redacted in the report, told Warren County Sheriff’s Office investigators he stole checks and cash from a school locker room. He briefly considered returning the money but “thought he wouldn’t get caught so he left with it,” the report states. Police estimated $3,000 was stolen. The coach said he deposited $1,250 in cash into his bank account. The missing money was reported to the sheriff’s office on Dec. 3. The coach confessed Dec. 7, according to the report. The sheriff’s office has submitted its report to prosecutors for potential criminal charges.
