Former employee from Washington Elementary School, OR, was sentenced to jail for theft.
Lori Welborn, 48, was accused of stealing more than $3,000 from the parent-teacher club from 2016 to 2017 and was charged after Salem police began investigating the thefts in 2017. Welborn had worked as an office manager at Washington Elementary School since 2000. She resigned on May 29, said Salem-Keizer district spokeswoman Lillian Govus. Welborn pleaded guilty to one count of felony first-degree theft. She was sentence to 10 days in jail and three years probation for embezzling more than $1,000.
